Summer activities at The Pankhurst
On 17 June we will be taking part in Manchester Day Parade which will weave its way through the heart of the city centre in a fusion of colour, music and dance! With it being the Centenary year we really want to ensure that the Suffragette section is a huge success and there will be a banner making workshop on Monday 11 June from 6pm. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved.
Then on 26 July best-selling children’s author Kate Pankhurst will be coming to The Pankhurst Centre for a fun-filled children’s workshop, with drawing, dressing-up and lots of inspiration for how to change the world! Kate’s books, Fantastically Great Women Who Made History, and Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World, are full of real-life stories of women who’ve challenged inequality, broken through glass ceilings and changed the course of history. Come along to the workshop at 2pm, and get inspired along with Kate, in the birthplace of the Suffragette movement. The event, suitable for ages around 5-10, will be bookable on Eventbrite soon, for a £1 donation to cover materials, and Kate’s books will be available to buy in the museum shop.
