Haiku Competition!

The women rise up

We want your haiku! We’re running a competition to celebrate the finale of The History of Lancashire in 70 Objects project, which featured Sylvia Pankhurst’s typewriter from our collection, and we’re looking for a winning haiku from you.

As we’re launching the competition on Lancashire Day, and in honour of our next project here at the Pankhurst Centre – a beautiful suffragette garden for our women and children – we want you to write a haiku with a red rose as the theme.

Can you beat our effort, above? The winner will receive a limited edition 70 Objects mug and badge, and have their haiku displayed in the Pankhurst Centre.

To enter the competition, send in your entries via email by 20 December to: e.defries@manchesterwomensaid.org

Entries will be judged by the Pankhurst Centre, and the winner will be announced in the new year.
