Convoy to Calais

The Pankhurst Trust, Independent Choices, Emmeline’s Panty Parlour, and Manchester Rape Crisis joined together to add our voices to the many who are standing up against the unpleasant and racist rhetoric apparent in the press about Refugees, and to show solidarity to those women and girls who suffer violence before they start their journey, whilst on their journey, and sadly even once they reach the shores of Europe.

In just a few short weeks Pankhurst volunteers, with the support of Unison, managed to fill a large van and trailer full of much needed aid for the Calais camp, along with raising £340 in cash donations (£230 from one member of staff alone!) which will go directly to the Women’s Centre in the camp.
